FLOAT BBS Zine Explorer
A retro BBS-inspired interface for exploring digital zines and philosophical concepts through the FLOAT framework.

FLOAT BBS Zine Explorer is a nostalgic yet forward-thinking digital space that reimagines the classic Bulletin Board System (BBS) interface as a tool for exploring philosophical concepts, digital zines, and experimental thought frameworks.
FLOAT: Feedback Loops of Affective Transformation
At the core of this project is FLOAT - a speculative digital framework blending psychoanalytic theory, queer theory, computational concepts, and philosophical frameworks. It serves as both a personal knowledge management system and a conceptual exploration tool.
Core Principles
- Shacks not Cathedrals - Choose lightweight, adaptable cognitive structures over rigid complex systems
- Emotional Resonance as Data - Truth is validated through affective resonance
- Remembering Forward - Memory as emergence, not retrieval
- Ritual over Routine - Intentional cycles of meaning-making
Retro-Futuristic Interface
The project features a deliberately retro interface that evokes the aesthetic of early 1990s BBS systems, complete with terminal-style text, neon colors against a black background, and command-line interactions. This nostalgic design choice creates a unique space for exploring forward-thinking concepts through a lens of digital history.
